The 2022 Southeast Asia Airport Review
Jakarta-Bandung rail link seen taking 40 years to breakeven, Mekong bridge study for Thai-Chinese high-speed rail, and more construction and transport news in Southeast Asia.
This week I’m travelling around the islands in the Andaman Sea of Southern Thailand. I’m doing some writing for Nomadic Notes, though I am always on the lookout for projects that relate to Future Southeast Asia.
I knew that work was going to be disrupted while I was island hopping every day. In anticipation of this, I wrote this week’s article before I left, and I was feeling pretty good about how organised I was. I scheduled half a day today to prepare this newsletter, and then the power went out on the island I’m on. The power was out for most of the day, so this newsletter is just making it out the door on its usual Wednesday deadline.
This week is the second annual Southeast Asia Airport Report. One of the benefits of running a curated newsletter is that I file news items into various categories. I save all the news about airports, which I can then condense into this annual report.
