These are my notes about construction and urban development in Kuala Lumpur from my visit in October 2025.

Old Town renovations

The government is funding the restoration of seven heritage sites in KL, including the Sultan Abdul Samad Building at Merdeka Square.

The old city area of KL has always felt neglected, so it was good to see that more buildings are being restored.

There is also a renewal of the laneways in the Chinatown area.
