Greetings from Kampot, Cambodia! This week I have been to Sihanoukville (city) and Koh Rong (also in Sihanoukville province).

The last time I was in Sihanoukville was in 2018, and a lot has happened in four years. I was planning to post a construction report for Sihanoukville this week, but time got the better of me. To post a construction report I first needed to map and catalogue everything that is being built or planned in Sihanoukville.

I also needed more time to process what I just saw. I posted some photos on Twitter of half-finished buildings and abandoned casinos. I’m staggered by what has happened here.

This week’s article is a master list of the major projects in Sihanoukville. This is Part I of my Sihanoukville trip. Part II will be the construction report and notes on the carnage of abandoned casinos.
