Indonesia secures investment commitment from UAE for new capital, East Coast Rail Link is on schedule, report on HCMC Metro construction errors, and more construction and transport news in SE Asia
The new central railway station of Bangkok is scheduled to start long distance rail service next month. Services from Hua Lamphong will now start and end at Bang Sue Grand Station instead (though maybe not considering how many delays have plagued the move).

The historic Hua Lamphong terminal building will eventually become a railway museum, but the fate of the rest of the land has yet to be decided.
The cash-strapped State Railway of Thailand is looking to reduce its mammoth debt of over 100 billion baht, so this prime land behind the terminal building is being planned for redevelopment. The SRT were also planning to redevelop the railway land at Makkasan, but nothing has happened for years. I suspect that the Hua Lamphong redevelopment plans will also drag on for years, so I have created this fact sheet to keep track of news and developments as they are known.
